Currently, almost all major economies across the world are experiencing Demand Shock, which has put the global supply chain ecosystem under a lot of distress. A significant percentage of MSMEs are experiencing a large part of their working capital locked into inventory, and the prevalent lockdown phase is raising questions about their survival because of Manufacturing Downtime for the last 2 months. The sales and distribution function is running at 20%-30% of its capacity and has significantly impacted the supply of Daily Essentials. In Feb’2020, approx. $50bn worth of global exports was wiped off due to COVID-19 and the countries whose value chains are linked to the epicenters of the disease experienced a major setback as China, for example, controls over 70% of the global raw material market. The transportation and logistics sectors that contribute over 10%-12 % of global GDP are running at their lowest capacity and have brought the crude oil prices down.
In this podcast, Sushant Ajmani has discussed the Pandemic’s impact in the US, EU, and Asia region with David Mcbride and Joseph Sursock, and briefly talked about Course5 COVID-19 Sprinter’s Package.
